Happy July 1st, Everyone!
Hey ya'll. I apologize for being so inactive practically for the entire month of June 09! A lot of personal events arose and caused me to be so very busy and had my mind occupied and in such a fluster!
I didn't want to post much in that state and all of my research and June goodies had to float around a bit.
As you've seen below, I've been working on working out! Very soon I'm going to be posting about "Apples and Pears."
Nooooo, I am not talking about fruit; I am referring to everyone's body-type: every single person on earth is either an Apple, or a Pear. And there are about 3 variations of each, but nevertheless, everyone is one shape or the other.
I guess I've been very health-conscious this past month or so and I have been very aware of my personal body-shape/type, my own health concerns, etc.
Makeup and Fashion have not been put on-hold! Health ties into Beauty and feeds off and compliments one another. You can't have one without the other, so a few up-coming Blog-entries will touch base about Health!
Since "Beauty" entries have not been put on-hold, there will be more content to add to my little Blog world ;-) Health is just the focus here, people. It's vital for all of us ;-D

A REAL Makeup GURU

If you read my very first post in this Beauty-Blog of mine, you would know that I look up to celebrity makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic. You can collect and purchase all the makeup products you want, but this guy has such talent. Kim Kardashian calls on him a lot to do her makeup for very important bookings (like her Fit-In-Your-Jeans-By-Friday DVD shoot) and she also calls him the "mix-master." He's great! And now he also has is very own, very simple and straight to the product point Blog.
Yay! My new Makeup Blog, bookmarked.
Gaga for Lady Gaga... and so is Forever21 Contest Winner!
(shown in Grey; also available in Brown)
Price: $26.80
"You'll fall in love with these faux suede leather platform pumps which feature a
peep toe construction. The elastic knotted backing securely holds your precious
feet in place while adding a sweet feminine flair."
I am a HUGE Lady Gaga fan, and sort of disappointed that I did NOT know about this contest even occurring! I would have entered at the drop of a hat!

If you don't already know, I love to play with makeup. Like millions, I am a MAC fan, and like some of those millions, I pick and choose which MAC products I am going to commit to and I consume products of other makeup brands: NARS, Benefit, Prestige, NYX, Coastal Scents, etc as well.
Since I like to play with different looks and pigments, I don't want to purchase whole jars. (This will also take me years to finish!) It's a great investment for colors you love, but I prefer to dabble and test here and there.
Price: $2.25
I spent $36.00 (Free Shipping on all orders of $35 and up) on 16 products from ShopCraze.com. The shadows come in convenient little jars as well. That little container might be all you want and need of that color.

I'd totally wear this entire outfit... I love the femme dress and you got to LOVE the Louboutin heels. That is the color I would get in those!

Longer, Fuller Lashes... yours, of course!
Latisse Eyelash Conditioner
Price: $125.00/unit OR
Buy 2, Get 1 Free ($98.33/unit)
Not talking false lashes, although I love them.
You don't need a prescription to purchase Latisse- if you were planning on testing out this product on yourself.
The FDA and their spokesperson, Brooke Shields seems to be behind the product. And although I know this isn't a new product, I'm talking (well, blogging...) about it because I've watched YouTube reviews and read on comparable products, such as: Lipocils, and some claims of "it not working" vs. "it working", and the average practical customer would want to save money and test out the cheaper brand ($40 compared to $100, come on now!)
BUT from my sources, I seem to read more positive feedback for Latisse being a higher rate of positive results.
Latisse and others say you need a prescription. Well, Latisse is available online to anyone, AND if you buy 2, you get 1 free... I think I just might try this baby!

Introducing ShopStyle (... if you didn't already know)
More often, I will be posting these Looks. ShopStyle is my one-stop shop portal, and my absolute favorite so far. My favorite shop-sites: ArdenB, Nordstrom, Free People, to name a few are all jumbled up and their products are conveniently on this site. And there is a community of fashion-lovers that put Looks together for you to rate, shop and get ideas. I simply love this site and I hope you do too.
I'll still be posting my favorites on here, along with links and buying info, but Join ShopStyle; it's so fun!

(shown: Wooden II)
Totally femme, romantic, antique- inspired accessories. I took home 'Wooden II' and 'Vintage Lady.' They're so pretty and a conversation-starter for the romantic eye that notices them!
Unfortunately, the only two styles left online are 'Tropical Lady' and 'Wooden I.' BUT, my sister informed me that all 4 are available in-stores. Go get yours while they still have them! They're timeless little wooden treasures.

love21 to launch on the 19th
It Looks like Forever21 is continuing its expansion. With Faith21 (Plus size) newly opened on the site and select branches in the Los Angeles area, love21 is Forever21's new take on "sophisticated style, at a price you can't pass up." This is scheduled to launch on May 19th (just around the corner, at exactly a week away from today!)
I'm expecting to see clothing appropriate for a baby shower, wedding and possibly office work-related attire. When they mention the word "sophisticate", I think "older."
Drawing attention to the curvaceous woman was one step, now Forever21 may be attempting to draw the more above 30 crowd. I don't blame them-- this is what women want. And we're not getting any younger!

Easy Click-It Nail Polish!
Labels:

Sally Hansen,
Ulta
"Description: Get an on-the-go manicure in minutes with the Quick Color Fast Dry
Nail Color Pen by Sally Hansen. Buy 2, get 1 FREE - Add 3 items to bag to qualify "
It was my little exploring daughter that was interested in this item during a trip to Ulta. She is barely into makeup, nail polish, etc. But I did allow her to buy this product, and without knowing it when I purchased it, it would be one of my favorite items!
It's easier to use than a traditional nail polish brush and you don't have to worry about spills or a big mess. It's so easy to use. You just click the pen to let out a few drops of polish to seep through to the brush on the end, and you can start painting away. Of course, there's a cover to keep it from drying out! It's good for on-the-go people, especially moms, and great for touching up. It's made my at-home pedicures much more enjoyable, worry-free and quick!
Since I pulled this up from online, don't feel limited to this brand or this color! There are more colors and about 2-3 more brands to choose from if you go to the store in person!
Faith 21 Has Spoken!
Pleated Silky Dress
Price: $24.80
(Also comes in Blue!)
I'm very excited to announce that Forever21 has launched Faith21- a Plus-size department for their voluptuous and curvaceous audience. I'm so happy that they have responded to a mass of customer requests and finally gave us what we wanted!
Personally, in some Forever21 dresses, I can be a medium, or a large. In most tops, (because I am 34DD busty), a larger fit would do me justice and I do not want to squeeze into size Large tops when I clearly look like I need a size bigger!
This is great for women! So far, I think the Faith21 launch is being tested in LA locations, and will soon spread throughout other branches, BUT Faith21 is now and will always be available to Shop Online! So go check it out!!

That little pink sponge

So many YouTube makeup Gurus and celebrity makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic swear by the Beauty Blender.
Sonia Kashuk® Blending Sponge
Price: $9.99
Target sells this similar, more inexpensive alternative, but I've seen better value in purchasing the Beauty Blender that includes cleaning solution that doubly acts as a good concentrated cleaner for your makeup brushes. It's a win/win.
double duo kit
2 beautyblenders with 5 oz blendercleanser
You'll notice in my past post of Kim Kardashian's Makeup with Mario series, he uses the Beauty Blender and TiffanyD has an extensive and very helpful review on the product on her YouTube Channel.

double duo kit
2 beautyblenders with 5 oz blendercleanser
Price: $39.95
You can purchase the kit on the official site or other stores for $39.95, but some of the other sites can offer Free Shipping (which is always good!)
- Sephora (Free Shipping for purchases over $50) (This is a plus if you already purchase your makeup through their site anyway.)
- DermStore (Free Shipping)
- Beauty.com (Free Shipping for purchases over $25) (This site has a PayPal option if you are generally sketchy about online shopping security.)
My April 09 issue of InStyle magazine (the one with Salma Hayek on the cover) featured the "2009 Best Beauty Buys" and personally, I've referred to this issue a lot recently when I've found myself in need to try a different shampoo or when I was looking for new foundation.
"Foundation Applicator- Beauty Blender. Makeup artist Troy Surrat has just one
word to describe this sponge: "revolutionary." Its rounded edges make for
foolproof application. $20; beautyblender.net."-- InStyle magazine, Apr 09 issue
Ombre, Black Egypt or Grecian?
(This, and any dress can be worn for any occassion!)
I initially visited GoJane.com to check out inexpensive alternatives to shoes, sandals, etc. but had to check out their gowns/prom dresses and this little number caught my eye! And after admiring it, and shopping around, I took note of the similar styles to the Arden B. Ombre (above) and the Grecian dress (below and coming up next...)
Grecian 30's Style Teal Satin Jeweled Prom Dress
$128.00
Most casual of the three dresses in this post, this maxi dress has a flowing chiffon overlay and is lined underneath. I own 2 gorgeous Arden B. dresses and I love the quality! One of my favorite sites- and I do visit every day to check for new merchandise.

This obviously is meant for a formal occassion, compared to the Ombre dress. It also comes in Dark Purple and Black. (shown in: Egyptian Ice) So pretty!
Grecian 30's Style Teal Satin Jeweled Prom Dress
Price: $118.00
The bold blue color of this dress is very flattering- if indeed Blue is your color. (I've been told Red looks good on me- and I've gotten the most compliments when I've worn it. So, whatever works for you.)
If Royal bold Blue is what looks best against your skin tone and brings out your best facial features and hair color, I would go with this dress. Not necessarily because it's the 'prettiest' amongst the three, but because the color of it would be the most flattering on you. The dress compliments YOU- not the other way around ;-)
